Terms of use
Last updated November 2, 2026.
SumTakeoff is run by F. W. Steward, LLC, an Indiana company. By using this site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Free to use
The calculators are free, with no account. The site is paid for by advertising, and we may change or remove a calculator at any time.
Results are estimates
Every result depends on the numbers you enter and on typical figures that vary by supplier, region and product. We work to keep the math right, but we don't promise that any result is exact, complete or right for your job. Check quantities with your supplier before you order.
Not professional advice
Nothing on this site is engineering, electrical, legal, tax or other professional advice, and no result means your work meets a code. Follow your local codes and ask a qualified professional or your building department about structural and electrical work. For pay and tax questions, talk to your employer, a tax preparer or the IRS.
No warranty and limit of liability
The site is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, F. W. Steward, LLC is not liable for losses that come from using the site or relying on its results, including wasted material, rework, delays or lost money.
Using our content
You can link to any page and share your results. The site's text, design and code belong to F. W. Steward, LLC, so please don't copy or republish them without permission. You can put our calculators on your own website with the code on our embed page, as long as you keep the "by SumTakeoff" line.
Advertising and other sites
Ads and links to other websites are not our endorsement, and we aren't responsible for those sites. Our privacy policy explains how ads and cookies work here.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Indiana law governs these terms.
